The war between the auditor and the legal service began last Sunday: the auditor said that the Assistant Attorney General exonerated a former client of criminal prosecution, exceeding his authority. Naturally, he didn’t like this and everything spiraled:
– This is important because the legal world of Cyprus has encountered an unprecedented confrontation of institutions: independent government officials trying to sink each other, staking everything
– Nikos Christodoulides, wrote on Twitter that this is “a very unpleasant event“. According to the spokesperson, the president himself does not want to interfere in the process and will simply agree with the court’s decision
– The AKEL party states that its position of “perceptive neutrality” is unacceptable, as the case concerns his country and they demand that he take initiative
– Philenews adds fuel to the fire, conducting polls in which it invites voting for whom they like more
